The Internal Pipe Aperture Tool (IPAT)

The IPAT functions in both PVC and HDPE landfill gas recovery wells. It is designed to be used in applications at operating facilities (with or without gas to energy plants) and at closed facilities. The IPAT has proven performance in the following environments:
  • at depth in the annular space of LFG recovery wells
  • above, within, and below the explosive range of methane
  • above or under water in flooded or clogged wells
  • in existing perforated zones
  • in extended risers.
Typical results from the application of PDTC’s IPAT technology include controlling subsurface gas migration, controlling subsurface emissions and decreasing gas impact on groundwater. By increasing the gas capture zone and capturing additional gas from flooded or clogged wells, fugitive emissions and odors are reduced. This also eliminates drilling of additional wells and pumping of water from wells.

Customers will experience a decrease in operational costs and an increase in efficiency: increased utilization of existing capital infrastructure, improved compliance through reduced fugitive emissions, and increased gas collection for energy generation. potential energy generation.
